One Letter Makes all the Difference

Today everyone was up before six. We were all still pretty sleepy, except Matthew. He was pretty hyper. He kept trying to kiss everyone's elbows. It wasn't well recieved.

We met up with friends for free Chic-fil-a, then headed to the dollar movie and watched, "Ninjago." There weren't enough seats so Matthew sat on my lap the whole time, I was one happy mama. I also laughed more than my kids during the movie.

The boys are all playing hot wheels right now, having ultimate duels to find the fastest, strongest car.

Caity is making cookies by herself for the second time. This means before every ingredient is added, she needs to come up stairs to clarify. It is cute.
"Mom! It says cream butter with sugARSSSS, so does that mean I add both of them? Yeah, I didn't see that at first, one letter makes all the difference. Add an 's' and now you have more that one sugar. Add a 't' to '...but, mom!' And you're calling your mom a bad word that is actually kind of mean."

Later
I got home from youth group and found an empty house. I walked to the neighborhood park and found a toddler carrying a ball everywhere he went on the play ground, an almost-five-year-old climbing up every pole and roof, and two darling little children playing basketball against a very good looking dad. It was a summer night I know I'll crave in the winter months.
Oh, I love when school is out.

"Mom. Be scared of me."
