Whoohoo for a five day weekend! Last Friday, the kids didn't have school, and it was basically a day of Netflix and Halloween candy while I laid down feeling sick. I was determined this time off would be better spent. So I woke up early and made each of the kids their to-do lists for the day and despite one 30 minute tantrum (lookin' at you William,) it went really well. Sometimes structure just feels good.
The below picture is from Tuesday afternoon meeting the kids at the bus stop. They run and hug me every time and I about die at how happy that little tradition makes me.
William and Matthew looked so cute waiting for their brother and sister and when I tried to snap a picture, William shouted, "I'M FLASH!" and this was all I got.
Wednesday I had a Parent/Teacher Conference with Johnny's first grade teacher. I had to laugh at all the smiling self portraits only to find Johnny's picture with this face. I loved his adjectives he used to describe himself, "Witty, nice, cute, and safe." His teacher said he is her sunshine boy- always positive and eager. I loved hearing that because by the time he gets home, I think he is exhausted and he always says "Today was the worst, so glad that's over." Haha. I think it's mostly because he's hungry because as soon as he's fed, it's turned around.
We swapped babysitting with the Osborne's. They came over and made cookies, wrote songs, battled eachother and played uno. It was so fun.
Matthew picked up some fever earlier in the day (maybe from something he licked in the dog bowl?) so he had to sit out.
But as soon as our friends left, he was joined by his brothers and sister on my bed to watch Daniel the Tiger. Poor little guy was miserable.
